ZGI Founder Dan Gordon stated that “Let It Begin! A Filmmaker’s Journey” exemplifies the quality of film that his son, Zaki, in whose memory the ZGI Film Institute was created, believed could be accomplished in his vision of a hands-on film school! “Let It Begin! A Filmmaker’s Journey” will now be entered into national and international film festivals in its current format, a 20 minute inspirational story of Tami Pivnick fulilling her dream to become a filmmaker which which came true through this thesis project’s behind-the-scenes look at a film festival.
The film’s direction changed as Tami found that we all have a connection that motivates us to inspire each other to follow our passion. Over 48 hours of footage was shot to create this 20 minute documentary. All of the music, including the title song, “Let It Begin” is original and written for the film by Composer/Musician Suzie Schomacher. The film took 273 days to complete, with many of those days being 12 hour work-days or longer.
The film was shot simultaneously with two camera crews, exposing the vulnerability and challenges we all experience on our journey to success. Conversations with film industry icons including Tony Curtis, Robert Osborne, Jerry Stiller, Ann Meara, Connie Stevens, Doris Roberts, Michael Moore, Kim Williams Paisley and others expose a warm, loving and supportive side of these Hollywood success stories rarely seen.
Through Tami following HER yellow brick road to her passion of filmmaking, we laugh, cheer, and cry as we relate to the human connection we have to each other.
Executive Producer Susan Broude is speaking with several interested parties about the production of a full length version of the film for television. For additional information, please contact Susan at 928-204-6400 or by email at susan@purplepeople.com
