Bullied to Silence Receiving RAVE reviews

Numerous requests from schools and companies are coming in for screenings of “Bullied to Silence.” We are currently considering licensing and distribution options that will allow it to be shared with as many people as possible. Anti-Defamation League Praises “Bullied to Silence”

Scott Hirschfeld and others in the Education Division of the Anti-Defamation League honored us by reviewing the “rough cut” of
“Bullied to Silence.” Scott commented, “We found many of the stories in the film to be quite moving, and the message of respect and inclusion definitely resonated for us. I also want to acknowledge that the film has many wonderful elements and that it makes an important contribution to the national dialogue around bullying.”

The feature documentary, “Bullied to Silence” is in post production releasing early 2012.  To celebrate its upcoming release, we invite you to participate in our gratefulness for all who have shared their stories and have joined with us to Be the Change.  We all are able to change verbal bullying by not using hateful or hurtul words in person or on the internet.To celebrate how SPECIAL you are, whether bullied in the past, currently, or never (thankfully), we ask that you write a one-page typed letter about what makes you SPECIAL and PROUD you were BORN THIS WAY.
THREE WINNERS will be chosen to receive a special experience that will allow him/her to share what makes him/her SPECIAL and PROUD to be BORN THIS WAY.

“Bullied to Silence” in Production

“Bullied to Silence” began production on March 4, 2011. After almost three months of filming interviews, events and involving dozens of people and their stories, we will be wrapping production shortly.
The journey has been amazing… filled with exclusive interviews from Tyler Clementi’s family, teen musicians who are writing songs with an anti-bullying message as some overcome the hurt and challenge of being bullied, role models from the sports, musical, art, professional, political worlds- both youth and adult- speaking on their experiences with bullying and what they are doing to stop the hurtful and hateful words now. Purple People Begins Holiday Cheer With New Orleans Elementary School

A shipment of 552 copies of “Purple Love” and “Purple Puppy” left Arizona today headed for New Orleans to surprise students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5 with a special gift this holiday season.

In Memory of the lives lost in New Orleans 5 years ago from Hurricane Katrina, Purple People and award-winning author, Susan Faith, are donating 552 books to J.F. Gauthier Elem School. (more…)

Oct. 20th is National “Spirit Day”-Wear Purple

Wear Purple – that’s the message being sent out virally, via Facebook and Twitter, asking people to show support for the gay community. It follows the deaths of six young gay men, in recent months, who have taken their lives due to homophobic abuse. Named “Spirit Day”, the event hopes to show LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) youth that they are accepted for who they are, regardless of their sexual preference.
