“Star studded” World Premiere of “Bullied to Silence”

Come meet the “STARS” of “Bullied to Silence” at the World Premiere on Mon., April 16th on the RED CARPET starting at 10 am prior to the film’s first-ever screening at 11am at the Boston International Film Festival at AMC/Loew’s Theatre in Downtown Boston at 175 Tremont St. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.bifilmfestival.com or at the theatre box office.

On the RED CARPET will be: Director/Editor Tami Pivnick, Producer/Writer Susan Broude, Int’l Bullying expert-Michele Borba, retired WNBA Phoenix Mercury Asst. Coach-Bridget Pettis, Tyler Clementi’s cousin-Jennifer Ehrentraut Segro, Musician/songwriter-Adam Smith, American Idol semi-finalist-Brett Loewenstern, Award-winning wrestler-Conor Duffey, Spoken Word Artist-Jason Lalli, and those who have written and performed incredible anti-bullying songs featured in the film including: Amanda McCarthy, Dalton Letorney, Hayley Reardon, Katherine & Kristen Veayo, Lynda Rose Vecchiarello, Michael & Marisa and introducing Sophie Burr.

Anti-Defamation League Praises “Bullied to Silence”

Scott Hirschfeld and others in the Education Division of the Anti-Defamation League honored us by reviewing the “rough cut” of
“Bullied to Silence.” Scott commented, “We found many of the stories in the film to be quite moving, and the message of respect and inclusion definitely resonated for us. I also want to acknowledge that the film has many wonderful elements and that it makes an important contribution to the national dialogue around bullying.”

The feature documentary, “Bullied to Silence” is in post production releasing early 2012.  To celebrate its upcoming release, we invite you to participate in our gratefulness for all who have shared their stories and have joined with us to Be the Change.  We all are able to change verbal bullying by not using hateful or hurtul words in person or on the internet.To celebrate how SPECIAL you are, whether bullied in the past, currently, or never (thankfully), we ask that you write a one-page typed letter about what makes you SPECIAL and PROUD you were BORN THIS WAY.
THREE WINNERS will be chosen to receive a special experience that will allow him/her to share what makes him/her SPECIAL and PROUD to be BORN THIS WAY.

Equality Arizona (EQ AZ) has joined forces with filmmakers Tami Pivnick and Susan Broude as the Fiscal Sponsor and major supporter of “Bullied to Silence.”

EQ AZ, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will accept tax-deductible contributions for “Bullied to Silence,” allowing donors to make a difference against bullying by supporting the film and such a worthy cause in the road to equality. “Bullied to Silence” is nearing the wrap of its production with the excitement of the musical team, led by Suzie Schomaker, (Composer & Executive Producer of Music for B2S), gearing up to make magic. Suzie heads a team of musicians that  will bring the organic and poignant rhythm of “broken silence” to “Bullied to Silence.”

Music contributions from Suzie include her original song written specifically for “Bullied to Silence”, “Leap of Faith”, Adam Smith’s “A Friend is a Stranger,” The Veayo Twins’ “Scream at Walls”, “Don’t Forgive Me,” Lynda Rose’s “You’re Pushin Me Down”, Michael & Marisa’s “The Same”, Hayley Reardon’s “She’s Falling” and others will contribute original and hit songs to the message that words do hurt, they kill, as the songtrack for “Bullied to Silence.”

“Bullied to Silence” began production on March 4, 2011. After almost three months of filming interviews, events and involving dozens of people and their stories, we will be wrapping production shortly.
The journey has been amazing… filled with exclusive interviews from Tyler Clementi’s family, teen musicians who are writing songs with an anti-bullying message as some overcome the hurt and challenge of being bullied, role models from the sports, musical, art, professional, political worlds- both youth and adult- speaking on their experiences with bullying and what they are doing to stop the hurtful and hateful words now.
